Within half an hour of departing Anchorage, keep an eye out for wildlife and magnificent views of Mt. McKinley. Weather permitting, the train will slow to allow passengers to take photos. The journey ends at the historic village of Talkeetna.

Traveling out of Anchorage, pass through the Railroad to Seward Alaska Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge and look for migratory birds, water fowl and moose. Continue along Turnagain Arm where Beluga whales and Dall sheep can often be seen. The journey ends at the town of Girdwood.

Depart Anchorage, and travel along Turnagain Arm where Beluga whales and Dall sheep can often be seen. Be sure to have your camera ready as you pass Spencer Glacier, Bartlett Glacier, Grandview Pass and Kenai Lake.

Alaska Railroad - Anchorage To Girdwood

Traveling out of Anchorage, pass through the Railroad to Seward Alaska Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge and look for migratory birds, water fowl and moose. Continue along Turnagain Arm where Beluga whales and Dall sheep can often be seen. The journey ends at the town of Girdwood.

Alaska Railroad - Anchorage To Portage

Depart Anchorage, and journey to scenic Portage. Keep an eye out for whales, and sea-life to your right side along Turnagain Arm, and dall sheep on the cliffs to your left. Also, pass through the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge where many migratory birds, water fowl and moose can be seen.

Alaska Railroad - Anchorage To Whittier

Depart Anchorage, and keep an eye out for whales, and sea-life to your right side along Turnagain Arm, and dall sheep on the cliffs to your left. After passing Girdwood and Portage Glacier, travel through a historic two mile long tunnel before reaching Whittier.

Alaska Railroad - Anchorage To Spencer Round-Trip Rafting Adventure

Ride the rails through the Chugach National Forest to Spencer Glacier and steal away on a gentle float tour among the icebergs at Spencer Lake and down the Placer River. Professional guides lead the trip. Rain jacket and rubber boots are provided.

Alaska Railroad - Anchorage To Grandview Round-Trip

Depart Anchorage, and travel along Turnagain Arm where Beluga whales and Dall sheep can often be seen. Be sure to have your camera ready as you pass Spencer Glacier, Bartlett Glacier, and especially when you arrive at the Scenic Grandview Pass. It is considered the most scenic spot on the whole railbelt.
